OBIANO'S WIFE TOURS SEVEN COUNCIL AREAS

Wife of the Anambra state Governor, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Willie Obiano (Osodieme) has embarked on another round of tours of Anambra state local government areas to empower challenged people, orphans and vulnerable people as well as widows with her pet project Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE). Obiano’s wife visited Njikoka, Awka North, Dunukofia, Anambra East, Oyi, Ayamelum and Idemmili North local government areas empowering hundreds of indigent citizens in all cadre in the communities from the local government area.

The Anambra first lady explained to the rural populace that her CAFÉ pet project was a well-articulated response to the outcry of the forgotten members of the society whose well-being is just as important as the well-being of the leaders of the society even as she urged them to support the Governor in making Anambra better.

The wife of Njikoka local government area, Mrs Ogechukwu Onuorah described her Excellency, the wife of Executive Governor Anambra state Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano as compassionate and an apostle of hope based on her pet project initiative that is targeted at indigent children and handicapped people, she prayed God to continue to strengthen her and her husband to shepherd the ship of Anambra aright. 

Mrs Onuorah commended what she called  proactive and preventive measures on security in Anambra state by the Chief Willie Obiano administration while applauding the uplift of health and educational sectors in the state. The Njikoka Chairperson urged Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano to take the assurances of their support and solidarity to her husband even as she informed her husband and Chairman of the local government Chief Emeka Onuoha not to be discouraged in encouraging the rural populace in supporting Obiano’s administration.

In her remarks, Wife of the Awka North Local Government Chairman, Mrs Rosemary Okonkwo commended the Anambra first lady for her official visit to the local government area to empower rural women especially widows, orphans and less privileged. Mrs Okonkwo lauded her initiative to step up the tempo of the legacies left by her predecessor Mrs Margaret Obi with her campaign for appropriate gender equity and equality as capital for nation building but particularly to make the dividends of democracy and development more equitably distributed at the grassroots. 

The Awka North Local government chairman’s wife informed her Excellency that the local government women in the ten communities that make up the council are praying for her husband Chief Willie Obiano for fruitful steering of the affairs of the state. She further said the Awka North council chairman, her husband, Sir Cosmos Okonkwo have been mobilizing support for the Obiano’s administration. 

On their part, the chairperson Oyi LG and Ayamelum gave credence to CAFÉ which they described as worthy initiative and a veritable tool to use in imparting positively to the rural indigent poor in various communities in the state.  Earlier the Ayamelum chairperson Mrs Oluchukwu Obiorah had commended the swiftness and zeal Governor Willie demonstrated in restoring normal life style in the state. She said since the inception of the administration peace has return to the communities and people can afford to stay out without fear of being attacked by the hoodlums. While the Oyi chairperson Mrs Ogechukwu Okafor joined her counterparts to commend the present administration while praying God to grant the action Governor more wisdom to aid him pilot the state affairs to the benefit of all citizens.

At  Dunukofia local government area ,  the Chairperson and wife of the local government area, Lady Ogechukwu Okeke listed security, road construction, agriculture and health as areas the Governor Willie Obiano and Dr Nkem Okeke administration have done wonders since assuming office , urging them not to relent in the interest of the public. 

Mrs Okeke thanked Obiano for the appointment of Dr Victoria Nkechi Chikwelu as Commissioner for Women Affairs  and Social Development even as she appealed to opponents of the Goevrnor in the last election to sheath the sword and work with the Governor in the interest of the state.

The wife of Dunukofia local government further thanked chief Mrs Obiano for visiting two Primary Health Centers in the local government , one at Ifitedunu and the other at Ukpo with gifts as well as her ante natal teachings to hundreds of women at the venue.

Her address read by Lady Florence N. Anigbogu (LSM), lauded the chairman of Dunukofia Sir Chukwudi Okeke for his giant strides so far in the council but did not  fail to inform Anambra first lady that their children are jobless and appealed that they should be included in the mechanized agricultural program of the state and provide them with more nurses in their health centers as well as empower cooperatives in the council area.

Contributing , the Chairperson Idemmili North local government area, Mrs Nkiru Idemobi commended the Governor Willie Obiano administration for standing tall since inauguration especially with security and urged the first lady of Anambra state, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano and the wife of Anambra Deputy Governor, Mrs Oby Nkem Okeke to continue to galvanize solidarity for the Governor and his deputy to take Anambra state to the next level. 

Mrs Idemobi as well commended the environmental sanitation the government is championing and commended the free post natal and ante natal care the government is providing to women in the state but went ahead and appealed to the first lady to site another skill acquisition center in either Ogidi, Abatete or Oraukwu town  to be close to the rural women as the only one available is located at Umuoji to enable more women to benefit. She also asked for building of a pure water factory in the local government  to empower the women financially.  

In the same vein, Mrs Jenifer Udeano the chairperson Anambra East commended her Excellency on the empowerment program she is championing, she pray God to increase and sustain the first family so that the good intention of Gov Willie lead administration will blossom to its fullness. She further thanked her Excellency chief (Mrs) Obiano for the gift of free bags of fertilizer to the women of the local government area to assist them in their farm work stressing that Anambra East is one of the core food basket of the state. 

 Chief Mrs Obiano had earlier called for support with security information to the local government chairmen and the security agents to enable the war against crime and all related offences to be successful adding that the government of her husband through CAFÉ which is a bold initiative, seeks to wipe the tears off the eyes of underprivileged children, widows and young women who are not adequately equipped to fend for themselves and restore hope to the society’s hopeless.


 She said CAFÉ had rescued two abandoned babies who are now being taking care of at state children’s home and had resuscitated the Children-in-need facility at Isulo in Orumba Local Government area where she commissioned a portable water project among several other interventionist efforts of CAFÉ.


 She added that she would partner with national and internatnal organizations to ensure a smooth and steady implementation of life-changing programmes and that arrangements have been concluded to ensure women enroll in the agricultural and vocational training programme that the Initiative was planning and enjoined all women to register with cooperative societies in order to gain access to government empowerment programmes.
