Chief (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano commends Voltech Institute Neni on the occasion of bakery and knitting center commissioning. She emphasized the need for technical education which pushes one above poverty level at the same time breeds employment. According to Mrs Obiano Anambra state is set to wade off miscreants at all levels while stressing the noble agenda of the action Governor who has vowed to engage Ndi-Anambra especially the youths with vocation that makes better human being and leverages a society.
Chief Mrs Obiano who narrated her interest at St John Voltech to include training of some widows across the 21 LG on soap making skill, promised to plead with her husband the executive Governor to aid in the speedy completion of the school building project which upon completion will enhance, expand and create a more conducive environment for learning. She encouraged the students to be steadfast in all what they do while in the school as the era of white collar job is diminishing.
Earlier while speaking in an opening remark, His Lordship Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor the catholic Bishop of Awka who coincidentally is the founder of the institution way back in 1988 when he was the parish priest of Neni. The Bishop admitted that the school is his baby and has sought to see the graduate from the school to always leave up to the expected standard having come from a befitting back ground like theirs.
The Hon Commissioner for Education Prof Kate Omenugha said that the eleven technical schools in the state is getting face lite as the action Governor has set to send some group of trainees to Singapore to be trained as trainers. She added that the four pillars of the present administration will not stand tall if the economic enablers are not rooted. She therefore enjoined the students to count themselves lucky to be part of the favoured ones
In his opening address the director of the school Rev Nwa Jesus said that the institution marked 15years of existence on September this year with 420 adult females that are focusing on her Excellency as role model. He expressed profound gratitude for the honour the wife of the Governor did to the entire school by attending the epoch making event in the life's of the students. The students also expressed their joy by thrilling her Excellency and the other dignitaries with lyrical songs.
Mama Anambra Osodieme global declared both the bakery and knitting centers open and functioning by Gods grace with prayer by the Bishop of Awka His Lordship Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor.
The guest were entertained with loaf of bread as the test of the pudding is in the eating
